Beginning in childhood, I’ve had many large and small “energetic experiences”. The first few events were relatively mild. Then they progressed in intensity. By the time a large event occurred I was able to navigate the experience and associated symptoms without fear. The weirdness of these symptoms was overshadowed by interest and fascination. The relationship I now have with these energetic experiences is largely supported by a decades-long meditation practice, which includes the study of, and working with, subtle energies.
Many of the people who I serve in my practice as a licensed clinical psychologist have been traumatized by a healthcare system that, for the most part, has little understanding of spiritual emergence. Some have mental health issues that have been served well with medication. Many more of those I serve are overly medicated and have had no previous therapy or support for what they were experiencing.
Symptoms are too often treated as illnesses, which are too quickly addressed with medication, which is realistically little more than sedation. If met with a pragmatic understanding, energetic events and their sometimes-scary associated symptoms can be supported as the evolutionary, natural experiences that they are.
In Topanga, CA I run a psychology group practice, Seven Rays Psychology. There I also hold individual and small-group day retreats. Working with individuals online has become more comfortable and frequent. On an ongoing and ever-changing basis, I facilitate online Soul Therapy group meetings that are free to join. Already a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, the main reasons for becoming an IMHU Certified Spiritual Emergence Coach is to be a part of a community dedicated to serving those who are looking for support in their great unfolding, a journey which can be difficult to navigate alone.
