I was raised in a military family, moving every 2-3 years until my college years. The childhood challenge that this was, provided opportunities for exposure to various perspectives and viewpoints in the US and abroad. In my teens, I became interested in astrology and my exact birth time, positioning me to seek out my original birth certificate. Having been adopted, I was fortunate that at the time, Kansas had open adoption records allowing me to learn not only my exact birth time but also the genealogy and names of my biological birth-lines.
So began years of diving deep into the topic of Western Astrology, studying Liz Greene’s books, in particular, and Archetypal Astrology. This, led me to appreciate Carl Jung’s esoteric interests and the marriage between Psychology and Astrology.
Prior to entering the field of Clinical Psychology, I first journeyed through an MFA at the San Francisco Art Institute where I focused on painting and drawing. I’ve studied various spiritual traditions and alternative healing practices, becoming poignantly aware of the auric field when during an Ayahuasca ceremony in 2006, an elder was tasked with releasing an unwanted energy from a participant at the ceremony. I have come to appreciate that this same occurrence is described as “unattached burdens” in the Internal Family Systems model, which I have increasing awareness and practice in.
I have been a student of Hatha Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga for numerous years. The somatic-mind-spirit connection I bring to my clinical practice as a psychologist includes tools Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brainspotting, the Comprehensive Resource Model, certification through Integrative Psychiatry Institute to provide Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy and integration and the aforementioned Internal Family Systems.
My special interests include the study of life between life hypnosis sessions, communication with those who have passed and space clearings. I have extensive clinical psychotherapeutic experience with individuals and groups, and am licensed as a Psychologist in Maine, California, and Colorado.
