She/Her/Hers...
I live in South London in England, UK.
I have a large family and am now a grateful grandmother.
I originally trained as an actress and worked successfully in the professional theatre for 15 years as a performer, and as a director of theatre and opera. I also taught in most of London’s Acting Schools and at the Royal College of Music in the Opera Department.
At the age of 40 I experienced a Kundalini Awakening. This powerful energetic force moved within me for about 2 years intensively, opening many doors of perception, clearing physical, energetic and mental obstructions along with the release of some long-held trauma affects stored in my organism. Nowadays I am aware of kundalini activity, much more gently, as part of my life experience. With the support of a very good guide/therapist I was able to fully embrace this remarkable, transformational rebirth and go on to enjoy a new and enriched experience of being alive.
After the kundalini energy had settled, I wanted to support others in their awakenings and the challenges it involves. I was extremely grateful for my own experience and for the support I thankfully found. I trained in Core Process – psychospiritual – Psychotherapy for 4 years at the Karuna Institute in the UK and went on to give support in a private practice. I became aware that very little was known, or acknowledged, within the available medical and psychiatric support systems about spiritual emergence/y. One of my intentions, to establish a residential sanctuary for people on this path, failed due to lack of funding. Now, with greater global awareness, internet sharing and the increasing occurrence of awakenings, people are beginning to realise that spiritual emergence/y, or ‘awakening’ can happen to anyone, anywhere, and is not an indication of mental health problems. I personally know it as a gift, an expanded awareness, a deeper connection to all that is.
I am also very aware that in sudden awakenings -spiritual emergency – some profound, non-ordinary experiences and challenging difficulties can arise. People can experience visions, develop psychic skills, connect with archetypes, have an expanded awareness….. and more. The natural world can look and feel very different, sometimes threatening. Certainly more alive. Commonly, there is a feeling of being ungrounded, we can experience fear, confusion, uncertainty, despair, physical pain, isolation or loneliness ….. to name a few. Underlying these experiences there is the presence of a ‘higher power’, whatever that might be for each of us. It can be difficult to continue in our ordinary life at this time.
A connection with someone who can ‘be with’ you through this can be invaluable. When things outside our ‘normal’ parameters of experience happen to us – as it does in spiritual emergence/y– it’s really helpful to share this with another non-judgemental person who can help you to discover a context for your experiences and ways of holding the process. People can sometimes, most notably with Kundalini, reawaken old trauma affects which have been held in the body. It is helpful to work with this somatically, with a person who is skilled and who is familiar with the process of gentle trauma recovery.
I have been involved for many years in the creative arts, which I believe can be a great resource for those who are in the process of awakening. It has an inherent capacity for freedom of expression which overrides rationality. I value and encourage this practice.
I am most familiar with the Kundalini Awakening, but I am able to be with most experiences comfortably. My own journey incorporated a number of ‘categories’ to varying degrees. Of the list of 13 categories given by IMHU and others, including the people I have met and worked with so far, I feel least helpful with possession states.

Offering 1-1 support
Due to living for 10 years abroad in Bulgaria, establishing an Arts and Community Centre, I don’t have a Current License to practice one to one therapy. I hope to be able to offer this again later this year, in 2023.
Offering support groups
In London I currently volunteer for the Spiritual Crisis Network, responding to people who are finding the challenges of Spiritual Emergency overwhelming. I also participate in the Support Groups they organise.
