Highly Recommended: an interview with an Indian medical doctor who speaks about his own Out of Body Experience, Astral Projection, Out of Body and Astral Travel Meditation. Dr Anoop Kumar practices emergency medicine in Washington, DC. Preetika Rao, a podcaster, is the interviewer. The interview was first published on YouTube on January 9, 2024. Link follows below.
During the interview Dr. Kumar shares his experiences growing up, how they prepared him for extraordinary states in his twenties and into adulthood. He offers advice on how to prepare yourself for these extraordinary experiences.
Astral Travel is an ancient Indian phenomenon documented in ancient manuscripts in India. Sages, called Rishi Muni’s in India, often meditated for decades on mountains and in caves and experienced astral travel meditation leaving their mortal bodies and travelling to different astral planes describing planes like the Deva Loka, Paatal Lok, Swarg Loka or the heavenly plane.
Astral Projection and Science
Dr Kumar says, “It’s often thought that this is just mysticism or this is just spirituality but what I want to show is that I don’t think there’s a real divide between spirituality and science and practical experience…
When we note that in science, the subjective lens that we use to look at the world, is just as important as the thing that we’re looking at… that’s so critical…We all know that when you use a microscope, if the lens isn’t adjusted it’s all blur, you don’t see anything, right… but you adjust the lens and now you see the cell right in front of you…and so similarly, when we adjust our minds, when we adjust our awareness, when we adjust our frequency and it’s doable for anyone…so just to show that you can have these experiences and they can be integrated with science and they make sense that’s why I started talking about it [these experiences]…
I think especially being in emergency medicine and being an emergency doctor, I feel like I have a responsibility honestly…because a lot of suffering in this world, including [with] my patients– I think it’s because we’re given such small stories about who we are and what this world is…
If you’re an amazing being and you’re always told, well, you’re a body and you’re a bunch of protons neutrons and electrons and that kind of does it… you’re born then you’ll die…that’s not going to feel good and I think that actually causes illness so that’s why I started talking about this…
So you need to have connection with people who are open-minded so they’re not going to criticize you…”
