Since an early age I have experienced what I describe as ‘extra-ordinary sensory perception’ (ESP). These experiences include: premonition and prophetic dreams; communication with people who have passed away; channeling benevolent entities on occasion; seeing the auras of plants, animals and people; communication with animals; and being touched by Divine Grace. I call these extra-ordinary because I find them quite ordinary, and in my mind they should just be considered as residing at the ‘extra’ end of the consciousness continuum, and as gifts. As a Spiritual Emergence Coach my intention is to be able to provide people safe, nonjudgmental spaces to explore and integrate their own ‘ESP’ and Spiritual Emergence experiences, as well as provide resources and share ways in which they can see themselves as being “extra Sense-able”. I am curious about what opens the gate to our perceptual abilities and whether or not leveraging our heightened perception can change the way we engage our lives, each other and our planet.
I grew up in Boulder, Colorado and at the age of 18 started getting Rolfing (deep myofascial release) sessions that awakened me to the importance of the mind-body connection and helped me to release and integrate both physical and emotional trauma. Experiencing this connection between mind and body led me to studying and receiving a BS degree in Nutrition. However, I soon realized that just attending to and improving what one puts into their body does not necessarily lead to wellness or a more balanced and energetic life. Something was missing. Then while living in Seattle, WA I experienced a body-based feedback coaching model called Lights On Learning? which changed the course of my life. As I witnessed individuals literally shift and morph before my very eyes to become more balanced, ‘lit up’ and integrated, I understood that health and wellness is an inside job and that if we are to fully enjoy and cope with the ups and downs of life, then somehow we need to be ‘seen’ at a Soul or Spirit level, without judgement, criticism or other people’s story. In 1998 I completed my yearlong certification as a Lights On Learning Coach. Later in my mid-40s I became interested in the intersection between somatic intelligence and leadership development and in 2006 received my Master’s Degree in Psychology with a focus on Transformational Leadership Development. I then incorporated into my coaching and organizational development work another transformational learning model known as equine-assisted learning, where people engage with and receive feedback from horses to learn more about themselves and how they are showing up.
Over the past 26 years I have facilitated individuals and groups to gain new insights into the unconscious or challenging aspects of their lives and have been able to provide the much-needed space for them to integrate this learning into a much broader and balanced framework. Often the first step is to be able to find a place where we can just BE with our own experiences.
