For years I led a very science-oriented life and was not specifically spiritually-oriented. Then, I started practicing mindfulness meditation and experienced a kundalini awakening. Being the opportunity for growth and well-being, my kundalini turned my life as it has been completely upside-down with the prospect of a new way of being. Later I recognized that I´ve been on a journey my whole life long without recognizing it. And after I managed to adapt to my own spiritual emergency, and changing my way of living, the calling arose in me to help and set for a new career path and follow my lifelong secret passion for psychotherapy.
As spiritual experiences, no matter which category (near death experience, kundalini awakening, spiritual awakening and many more), can be very traumatizing especially at the beginning and difficult to process, my aim is to assist each person in one-to-one counseling going through different states of crisis or in need for support and helping to integrate and transform those experiences which might be difficult to process. From my own lived experience and from my work with clients in spiritual processes I know how important it is to have a non-judgmental and open-minded listener by your side, especially with experiences which might not be considered as “usual” or “normal” by all parts of the society. Experiences for which it might be difficult to find words for, and with which a new framework and orientation for what is happening might be needed and can be created during the counseling sessions.
All kind of Mindfulness practices (e.g. MBSR, Metta) are still part of my everyday life, being a big resource for myself and my work with my clients as I weave some principles of mindfulness in the one-to-one counseling.
For me it is important to be with my clients open-minded, with an open heart and deep listening.
