From Rxisk…November 13, 2020, marks the launch of PIMsPlus.org, a new free searchable resource for safer medication use which is focused on Potentially Inappropriate Medications (PIMs): medications that should be used with caution in older adults because research and clinical experience with these medications have shown that the risk of adverse effects can outweigh the benefits.
The aim of PIMsPlus.org is to become the best and most easily accessible source for PIM information for patients and healthcare providers.
This project is a partnership between TaperMD, the Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University, and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP).
TaperMD is a division of Data Based Medicine Americas Ltd, and the same team also work on RxISK.
You can visit the PIMsPlus site at www.pimsplus.org. To view the news release and learn more about TaperMD.
Author: David Healy, MD, (photo above) is a psychiatrist from Wales who founded and now directs rxisk.org. RxISK is a free, independent drug safety website to help you weigh the benefits of any medication against its potential dangers. Te rxisk website offers perspective from consumers who use psychiatric medications and report on the impact it has had on their lives: good and not so good. This gives perspective to those contemplating making an informed choice about using psychiatric medications.
